EDITION #04
12.13.2023
We're going full cozy season mode and taking the opportunity to shamelessly remind you of the power of longlasting characters, Hot off the heels of our last Drop, ‘The IP Edition’, the nostalgia of the holidays has us all in our feels over our dear friends from across the years, many of whom are still working their magic today. It’s a glimpse at the glistening (😉) talent across our roster. It’s a remix of the nutcracker you never knew you needed.
It’s our [ WINTER '23 Megamix ]! Featuring work by Borja Peña Gorostegui, Todd + Kylie, Marie Hyon, Goldenwolf, Wizz, Buda, Hanzo Hanzo & Vallée Duhamel.
How do you take your Holiday Cheer? Diced, shredded or julienned? In our eighth year of collaborating with McCann Manchester + Aldi UK on the annual 'Kevin the Carrot' Christmas series, we've come to find that any way you slice him, audiences can't get enough of our lovable character.
Our latest installment, ‘Kevin and the Christmas Factory’, has scored the highest of all holiday ads for 2023 (according to System1’s data). It’s the fifth year in a row that a spot featuring Kev has hit 5-stars, and this year marks Aldi UK’s second maximum score of 5.9 in a row. Feast your eyes on our behind-the-scenes cut to catch a glimpse of the magic-making then go half a scroll down to check out the final for one more look at that plum crack.
I recently came across the work of artist and photographer Lydia Roberts and instantly fell in love with it. Her work has a timeless quality to it and reminded me a lot of the experimental side of early photography pioneers like Erwin Blumenfeld.

In April I got to work with old friends on a nice little Amazon job shot in Warsaw. Rob Leonard producing, Mark Connell on production design and working with Darko and Radioaktive from their new Poland office.

Jonathan Glazer’s return after 10 years about the commandant of Auschwitz and his family who have found their own version of paradise living next to the camp is truly haunting. Shot with 10 cameras used in an almost CCTV style, it’s an incredible snapshot of the mundanity of evil.

What happened to a solid 90 minutes?
Pint $10. Roll of film $15. Avocado $4.50.
Happiness = sales. The constant battle for a little contrast and shape. I think we're seeing more brands step into braver spaces though and I'm excited about that.

Shock your friends, amaze your enemies but, most importantly, stake your claim of the coveted title 'Most Unhinged Cousin' at the family potluck this year.
Bottom line, there are two types of people in this world: those who have Psyop merch... and those who don't.
( We’ll let the FOMO take over from here. )
